For a time in the early 1970s, Pamela shared her life with the poet and writer, Charles Bukowski. Her memoir, "Charles Bukowski's Scarlet" is a chronicle of those times.
And they were tumultous times indeed. The women who came of age during those years form a powerful sisterhood.
We are now business owners and home owners, and mothers and grandmothers, but for a brief time in the late 1960s and early 1970s we ran barefoot in the grass, with flowers in our hair. We strummed guitars or belted out the blues.
It was the era of Free Speech and Free Love and we drank deeply of both.
Decades have passed, but our treasured memories have not dimmed, and the hope and the promise of those years still burns in our hearts.
